Amanda Littauer

Amanda Littauer (she/her) grew up in the Seattle area and has lived in Geneva since 2010. She is an Associate Professor of Gender and Sexuality Studies and History at NIU and loves writing, teaching, and chatting about LGBTQ+ Studies and History.

She is (slowly) earning a degree in Counseling so she has more skills to support the healing and well-being of queer and trans folx, especially youth. Healing, learning, growth, and connection fuel her sense of meaning and purpose.

She identifies as lesbian and queer (100% trans inclusive and affirming). Her daughter (22) identifies as pan, and her kiddo (12) identifies as omni and nonbinary.

She is grateful to be a part of the Belong board and community and loves meeting new people who come to our events. She splits her time between Seattle (where her partner lives) and Geneva, so she isn’t always at events, but when you see her, please say hello!
